TEXT COPY FROM THE REVIEW:
Two years of dedication and hard work now has Malaysia´s very own purveyors of “Atmospheric Death Metal," HIDDEN SILENCE, releasing their second album, bearing the uneasy title “Into The Child´s Nightmare." Having reviewed the band´s demo from 2004 only a few days ago, I was genuinely interested in learning how the band had progressed.

It seems they´ve stuck with more or less the same recipe, a very classic Metal sound, rooted in all the original Extreme Metal forms. The songs go from old school Speed/Thrash Metal ala vintage KREATOR (“Wrath Of God”) to good ol´ fashioned Heavy Metal with atmospheric melodies close to some of CRIMSON GLORY´s hit material (“I See The Dead”), complete with death/black vocals and an old school sound mix.
For more interesting song structuring, the title track and the already mentioned “I See The Dead” work nicely, ranging from slow keyboard laced passages to full on Metal mayhem dynamics. The band treads on many different moods, be it blackened symphonic passages, early nineties Death Metal riffs, the all too obvious maidenisms in the melodies, or the unexpected peaceful aura of the keyboard/acoustic/clean guitar arranged instrumental “Forever My Daughter," there´s no shortage of wanting to try out various ideas.
All things considered, this album has some pretty good moments, even if it sounds a bit clumsy put together. Not an eye opener as such, this stuff´s been heard before, but what this album does have, is an honest approach towards the experimentation of classic influences within all Extreme Metal genres, and that´s pretty cool for a band coming from the Southern parts of Asia hehe
